I am an artist based in Gothenburg, Sweden, working primarily with painting and installations. My practice explores the relationship between the built environment, visual perception and memory.

Walking through cities is an important part of my practice. I pay attention to architectural details, lines, shapes and colours that catch my eye, often photographing what I notice along the way. These observations become starting points for abstract compositions. By simplifying and deconstructing these elements, I gradually transform my observations into paintings.

 

My paintings are built up through multiple layers of paint and characterised by geometric forms, precise lines and distinct areas of colour. They are not depictions of the places I have seen, but rather expressions of my experience of them: what I remember, what caught my attention and what has stayed with me.
